What is the Dornoch Whisky Festival?
The Dornoch whisky festival is a showcase event where distilleries and brands will showcase their wonderful offerings. An opportunity to sample Scotland’s finest whisky and meet industry experts in the incredible backdrop of the Scottish Highlands. There will be a main grand tasting event as well as various events (dinners, tastings) taking place in local establishments as part of the overall 3 day festival. 

When and where is the event taking place?
The festival will run from Friday 23rd October to Sunday 25th October. 

The Grand Tasting event will take place on Saturday 24th October. There will be two sessions, one am, one pm. Each is a separate ticket. This event will take place at Royal Dornoch Golf Club, IV25 2LW.  Tickets are available on our tickets page.

Who can attend?
Attendees must be 18+ and will be required to show a valid ID on entry.

How do I buy tickets?
Tickets can be purchased online via our tickets page. 

What does my ticket include?
Ticket includes: entry, tasting glass, access to exhibitor stands, tasting with each exhibitor and discount on whisky bought on the day. 

Can I buy tickets on the day?
This depends on availability. Advance booking is strongly recommended as events often sell out.

Are tickets refundable or transferable?
Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.

No, all additional events and dining experiences require to be booked in advance.

Will food be available?
Yes – the grand tasting event will be hosted within Royal Dornoch Golf Club house with access to full catering and bar for all patrons. 

Can I bring my own food or drink?
No

Dornoch has a wealth of on street parking and car parks. 

Is the event accessible?
Yes

Can I buy whisky at the festival?
Yes, many exhibitors sell bottles, sometimes including exclusive releases.

Will there be special or rare whiskies?
Often yes – the Dornoch Whisky Festival is a great place to try limited editions and rare drams.

Policies & Safety

What is the responsible drinking policy?
Attendees are expected to drink responsibly. Staff may refuse service if necessary.

Can I re-enter the event if I leave?
Yes.
